Nailing It to the Cross: Letting God Remove What Holds You Back
This Sunday, we reflected on a powerful and transformative truth: we don’t have to carry the weight of our struggles alone. When we bring our issues, burdens, and sins to the cross, God is ready to remove them from our lives and replace them with His grace, peace, and purpose.
Leaving It at the Cross
The cross is more than a symbol of sacrifice—it’s a place of surrender. When we “nail” our issues to the cross, we’re making the decision to release them to God, trusting Him to do what only He can. Whether it’s fear, anxiety, unforgiveness, or anything else weighing us down, Jesus has already paid the price.
So we all wrote down our struggles on paper, folded them up, and simply nailed it to the cross with 2 hammers to share amongst all of us. As we nailed our burdens to the cross, we prayed and asked God to do the rest. Watch it here<<<
Matthew 11:28-30 reminds us: “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
This week, let’s ask ourselves:
•What am I still holding onto that God wants to take from me?
•Am I willing to trust Him completely with my struggles?
Whatever it is—big or small—God is asking you to bring it to the cross and let Him handle it.

Letting Go and Letting God
Nailing our issues to the cross is not a one-time act; it’s a continual process of surrender. Every time we try to pick up a burden we’ve already laid down, we must remember that the cross is big enough to hold it all. Trust God to remove what’s holding you back and allow Him to work in your life in ways you never imagined.
Let’s move forward in faith this week, knowing that God has already overcome every challenge we face. Together, we’ll walk in His freedom and purpose.
